at-home-reception recap
Our At Home Reception was an absolute blast! We had a great turn out and everything went perfectly :)
om noms
Om noms, a.k.a. FOOD was the highlight of the first half of the party. We had incredible cupcakes that were made by my friend's sister in law and business partner. They are starting off with a new bakery called Ginger & Honey and they made the most incredible cupcakes. I took photos for them earlier this year and got to try some of their baked goods then, and that's when I made the decision to drop Georgetown Cupcake and go with them instead. They were WAY better and that's all anyone had to say :)
The rest of the food was provided by the Hunt Valley Marriott, the location for this shindig. We had a pear and gorgonzola salad, the choice of Dijon Crusted Salmon, Filet Mignon and Shrimp, or Citrus Chicken with a Maui Tropical Sauce. Then they provided Cheesecake with various drizzles in addition to the cupcakes. There were also coconut shrimp with a mango sauce and cheese, crackers, and fruit available pre-dinner.

entertainment!!
The first half of the party (pre-dinner show & dinner) was really nice, the dueling piano guys played a lot of nice songs, food was good, whatever. We finished dinner, smashed cupcakes in each other's faces (I got cupcake up my nose :( boo!) and then played our video. That's when the piano guys turned it into a real PARTY!!
One of my friends got the tambourine from them and was from there on out known as either "tambourine girl" or "party captain." Steve danced to Sir Mix Alot, which I missed because I was in the bathroom!!! I'm so glad there's photographic and video evidence of this fabulousness. My parents won the anniversary dance, having been together for 25 years! They conned us into having a first dance even though we didn't want one, but it turned out to be really nice, and it was to Elton John's "Your Song" which is one of my absolute favorites anyway.
